NASCAR, the Hogs, & Me

I guess this entry covers all of my blog title’s subjects.

NASCAR:
The NASCAR champions are being crowned this weekend. Ron Hornaday was named the Craftsman Truck champion last week. Carl Edwards has already clinched the Busch series championship. Jimmie Johnson & Jeff Gordon will battle it out for the Nextel Cup championship tomorrow afternoon. My prediction? Jimmie Johnson will win it.
Tomorrow is Dale Earnhardt Jr’s last race in the Dale Earnhardt Inc #8 Budweiser Chevrolet. As excited as I am for 2008, this closing chapter in his career is sad as well. Junior’s quote from this weekend so far that sticks out is “I will be sad for my dad”.

The Hogs:
The Arkansas football team plays Mississippi St in Little Rock today.
The main focus of all of the fans’ attention, though, is not necessarily on the game but on yesterday’s very large rumor that Houston Nutt won’t be returning to the coaching staff in 2008.
The Arkansas basketball team is playing in a tournament in Puerto Rico this weekend. They are 1-1 so far in tournament play.

Me:
I’m fixing to head to the 50th birthday lunch for one of my mom’s friends. We are going to Noodle’s. Yum!
My grandmother is supposed to get out of the hospital today. She went to the ER last Sunday night because she had a seizure and then had another one while in the ER. They think her low calcium level might have been to blame.
