April Showers Bring May Flowers

Well, I agree with that popular saying to a point.  It is currently nearing the end of May 11, and we do have flowers blooming everywhere.  The part I disagree with is the implication that the showers are all in April and they make way for May flowers.  This was a piece of hail that landed near my parents’ front porch late yesterday afternoon.  This is the latest in at least a handful of heavy storm systems that have moved through Northwest Arkansas since mid-to-late-February.  Most of them included very heavy rain and flooding.  The one yesterday brought strong winds, hail, and tornados.  With the exception of a couple of downed limbs and some tree branches, we have been lucky enough to not have any major complications because of the storms.  (Well, my sister might say her school bus having to take the long way around a flooded bridge was a major complication but you know what I mean.)

Here are some of my my favorite photos I’ve taken this Spring.

This is a bull calf that was born on Thursday at my parents’ farm.  His daddy is a Brahmen bull so I’d say this one is going to look just like him when he grows up.

Those pictures are beautiful, Tara. I love the images of Spring, but not necessarily the season (“sinus” season). I think you have captured great images. Yes, I agree…except the rain needs to come here, at least for a day or two.
