The Games We Play

Here is a list of my favorite games (board, child-hood, and otherwise).

  • Sudoku – I think I could sit and work Sudoku puzzles for hours if I had the time.
  • Monopoly – I like the original version the best.
  • Dodge Ball – I’m not talking about the knock down drag out dodge ball that adults play but the knock down drag out dodge ball that kids play.  I swear it wasn’t that dangerous when I was playing it.
  • Kick Ball – I loved playing kick ball.  I was never good at softball but I could play kick ball.
  • Uno – This is a classic card game.
  • Dominoes – My dad has an old set of ivory double-6 dominoes that, I believe, were my grandfathers.  I loved sitting and playing with those.  My double-12 set is pretty fun now too, just requires more math.
  • Candyland – I can still sit, play, and enjoy this game.
  • Puzzles – I love working puzzles.  I just don’t have any space to do them in my apartment.
  • Trivial Pursuit – While I’m horrible at the original edition because of the age of its content, I do love to play.  I have the 90′s edition which is still hard.  (You’d think remembering most of the major news and events of the 90′s would give me an advantage but it doesn’t.)
  • Battleship – My grandparents had a set of Battleship when I was growing up.  (I think they actually still have it.)  My cousin Jeff and I used to sit around at family get-togethers and play Battleship.

I just have to say that Pete and I were playing Uno with his cousin and his girlfriend and the one hand we had lasted 2 1/2 hours. We finally gave up!! I love board games. My all time fave is Payday (the older version).
