President Obama has declared Arkansas a disaster area. I could have probably told him that based on the above picture from my parents’ back yard. There is not a tree here that does not have some sort of damage. Most of limbs that have broken out. The ones that don’t are bent over and look like they could snap at any moment.
I did say “parents’” above. I’m a wimp when it comes to this kind of weather. I sure don’t drive on ice, snow, or even the possibility there might be some on the road. (Although, I will say that I’m getting better in this area.) The thought of getting stuck in Rogers at my apartment with or without power was pretty scary to me. I opted to stay at my parents’ house as soon as the weather started on Monday afternoon/evening. I’ve been here ever since. As of right now, I am planning on finally getting out in the morning and going to work. As long as we’ve had power and internet during the day, I have at least been getting some work done. We lost power for about 6 hours on Tuesday, internet for about 4 hours yesterday, and then cable/internet for 4 hours today.
See this clothes line? Now you don’t…
It bit the dust (or ice/snow mixture) about mid-day yesterday.
The calves enjoyed playing in the sunshine today.
This white cow (who doesn’t look so white in this stuff) has constantly been around the fallen limbs. I’m not really sure why because limbs are still falling out of these trees.
Here is a slideshow of the pictures I’ve taken the past couple of days of our yard. I’m planning on taking my camera with me to work tomorrow to see if I can get any pictures of Springdale’s damage.

Wow, great photos, Tara! Those poor trees. It looks so pretty to be so devastating to the trees.

Your pictures are amazing. We didnt get as much ice here in Jersey as you guys did, but the ice that we have is annoying. Stay warm & drive safe!
