173 Years Later

The Alamo - San Antonio, TX - 3/6/09

Before daybreak on March 6, 1836, the Alamo fell to the Mexican army leaving the only survivors to be 20 women & children and Colonel Travis’ male slave.  Among the defenders of the Alamo who died was Davy Crockett.  Yesterday was the 173rd anniversary of the siege of the Alamo.  At 6 am, Kelly & I went to the Dawn at the Alamo (a ceremony honoring the fallen on both sides in the Alamo conflict).

After the ceremony, we hung around the area to await the official opening of the Alamo’s interior to the public.  This gave both of us some time to take plenty of photographs of the exterior without the tourists milling around in all of the shots.

That’s pretty awesome and great photos! I kind of forget about everything that happened there, so that’s cool to be a part of the anniversary!

Btw, did I tell you I got the concert photographer job? First concert – Keith Urban!

I bet that was an interesting outing and interesting event to attend. The pictures are great, as always.
